My name is Irvin Huang and I’m a Ph.D. student in the McElroy Lab at Stony Brook University. I received a bachelor’s of science at UC Davis in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology as well as Environmental Toxicology.
I study how pharmaceutical pollution, psychiatric drugs in particular, might affect aquatic ecosystems. I do this using a variety of tools, including tracking animal behavior, genomic sequencing, and molecular biology.
I believe that being a scientist means surrounding yourself in the unknown and constantly learning new things about the world (and yourself!). So join me – we can learn together.
